SAINT ALBANS, WV — The City of St. Albans Parks & Recreation Department will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Monday, December 19th at 2:00 PM at Roadside Park in St. Albans, WV, to celebrate the completion of construction projects to improve the lower portion of Roadside Park.
For the last three months, local area construction and engineering firms have worked diligently to add additional parking, ADA-accessible walkways, a new courtesy dock, and an extended boat launch ramp area for improved access to the Kanawha River in St. Albans. This is an exciting opportunity for citizens of St. Albans and visitors to celebrate the park improvements.

The upgraded parking area will feature more accessibility for people with disabilities and more space for larger vehicles like boat trailers. The new courtesy dock provides another option for boaters looking to access Kanawha River while enjoying their time at Roadside Park. The boat launch ramp has also been expanded, with added rip rap to allow for easy access in and out of water for area boaters after a day on the water.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will include short remarks from St. Albans Mayor Scott James, Parks & Recreation Superintendent Kevin Pennington, and other state and local area officials involved in this project.
