Welcome to Roadside Park in St. Albans, WV! This is the perfect place for your family outing as it features amenities like boat launching ramps that will make boating on Kanawha River more easy than ever before. There are also nice and cozy overnight RV camping spaces and picnic shelters where you can spend some time with friends or loved ones while enjoying scenic views of our beautiful Kanawha River nearby – not to mention inclusive playground equipment too!

    Residents and visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational options including a well-equipped playground, picnic shelters, boat launch ramp, RV parking, and more. The park is also handicapped accessible with paved walkways and an asphalt parking lot.

    Inclusive Playground Equipment at Roadside Park

    The children’s playground area in Roadside Park in St. Albans, West Virginia, includes inclusive playground equipment that is also handicap accessible. They provide a safe space for all children to play and explore within a natural setting without limiting what they can or cannot do.

    Picnic Shelters

    The picnic shelters found in St. Albans Roadside Park provide a serene and natural setting for a family outing or get-together or even a quiet lunch by the river. Our shelters can easily accommodate your visitors and guests with plenty of BBQ grills and picnic tables. We have two shelters available for your next get-together.

    Boat Launch Ramp at Roadside Park

    St. Albans Roadside Park is an excellent location to launch your boat, kayak, or watercraft to enjoy a day out on the river, pleasure boating, or fishing. With plenty of lighted free parking for your vehicle and trailer, there’s no excuse not to take advantage of this free amenity. Recent improvements on the ramp have improved boaters’ access to enjoy easy access for their time on the Kanawha.

    RV Parking & Camping

    There are also paved asphalt RV parking spots for overnight camping at St. Albans Roadside Park. If you are traveling through the area with your RV, pull behind camper or travel trailer, Roadside Park in St. Albans is a great place to stop while passing through town.

    Pull-through sites are available at our quaint campground with a maximum stay of 2 nights within a 15-day period. Campers’ additional features include fresh water and electric hookups with a dump station when your stay with us is complete. Overnight Tent camping is prohibited on our property.

    Reserveations are not required for RV camping spaces. 

    Restrooms

    Handicap-accessible, public restrooms are available on-site, centrally located in the park for easy access.

    Concert Stage

    The lower parking lot at Roadside Park’s Concert stage comes alive with a seasonal concert series that features a variety of genres and local artists all summer long.

    Rosie the Riveter Park

    On the east end of Roadside Park sits one of the city’s newest parks, Rosie the Riveter Park. This beautifully landscaped park pays tribute to the women who worked in factories during World War II. Learn about women’s history in the workplace and enjoy a quiet walk through the well-manicured gardens.

    Chuck Yeager Memorial Rocket Park

    Roadside Park features the Chuck Yeager Memorial Rocket Park, honoring America’s first supersonic pilot. This park is home to a life-size Honest John Army missile erected by Explorer Scouts on July 4, 1970, to commemorate Yeager’s bravery in his heroic, scientific achievements.

    What are Roadside Park's hours?

    St. Albans Roadside Park is open daily from sunrise to sunset year-round so that you can visit us at any time! Special events may alter regular park operations and hours. Please plan your visit accordingly.

    Are Pets allowed at Roadside Park?

    Yes, pets are allowed in the park as long as they remain leashed and under control by their owner at all times. Pets are not permitted to run free within the park’s confines for safety reasons.

    How to Reserve Park Facilities?

    Many park facilities, including picnic shelters, and more, are available for reservation. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis. To inquire about reserving a park facility or campsite at Roadside Park or any of our facilities, please call our Parks & Recreation Department’s main office at 304-722-4625.

    Driving Directions to Port of St. Albans Roadside Park

    From I-64 West, take Exit 54 – MacCorkle Avenue. / Route. 60, Turn Left onto MacCorkle Avenue towards St. Albans. The park entrance is on the right.

    From I-64 East, take Exit 44 – St. Albans. Turn right onto 817, then left onto MacCorkle Avenue / Route 60 towards St. Albans. The Park entrance is on the left.
