St. Albans Parks Announces 35th Annual Festival of Lights Celebration.

ST. ALBANS, WV – The St. Albans Parks & Recreation Department is thrilled to unveil the 2023 schedule for the landmark 35th Annual St. Albans Festival of Lights. This cherished tradition illuminates St. Albans City Park, casting a festive glow that has brightened the holiday season for 35 years.

Free Walking ToursNovember 21, 6 PM – 8 PM
Kick off the festivities with an exclusive preview of the Festival of Lights. On November 21st, from 6 PM to 8 PM, immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere by joining our free walking tours. This is a unique opportunity to appreciate the intricate details of our hand-crafted light displays. Gather at the St. Albans High School parking lot by 5:30 PM. The tour will journey from the High School to City Park and conclude with a return walk to the parking lot.

Free HayridesNovember 22, 6 PM – 8 PM
On November 22nd, from 6 PM to 8 PM, elevate your experience with free hayrides through the mesmerizing Festival of Lights. This one-night-only event offers a delightful way to absorb the holiday ambiance. Assemble at the St. Albans High School parking lot by 5:30 PM. Shuttles will transport visitors to City Park for the hayride and conclude with return trips to the High School.

Opening NightNovember 24, 6 PM – 9 PM
The grandeur of the 35th Annual St. Albans Festival of Lights will be unveiled to vehicle traffic on November 24th. The festival will be open nightly from 6 PM to 9 PM, running through December 23rd. Note: The festival will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with a grand finale on December 26th.

Santa House at Roadside Park
After enjoying the Festival of Lights at City Park, make your way down to Roadside Park in St. Albans for another delightful experience. New in 2023, we’re introducing the Santa House, a dedicated holiday setting where the magic of the season comes alive. Here, visitors will have the unique opportunity to take their own photos with Santa, free of charge. And keep an eye out! Santa may be accompanied by special guests throughout the season, adding an extra sprinkle of holiday wonder. Specific visit dates and times will be announced soon, so stay tuned and ensure you capture those precious moments with Santa and his festive friends.

The St. Albans Festival of Lights has been a beacon of holiday joy for the community of St. Albans, the Kanawha Valley, and visitors from afar. As we celebrate 35 years of holiday traditions, we invite everyone to be part of this magical journey.

While the Festival of Lights is free, we graciously accept donations of monetary and canned food. Monetary contributions support the event’s operations, and food donations benefit local food banks.
